I was born in Kennewick, WA and lived in Rapid City, SD and Colorado Springs, CO before settling in Aurora with my family when I was in 4th grade.

I attended Overland High School in Aurora and the attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. I have a B.S. in Biological Science with a minor in Anatomy and Neurobiology.

After graduating from CSU I worked for 2 years as a Site Supervisor for a Before and After School program for Englewood Public Schools. At this point, I decided to move to Los Angeles and attend the University of California, Los Angeles and pursue my teaching credential and Master's Degree in Education, with a focus on Urban Schools.

I taught for 2 1/2 years in South Central Los Angeles at Audubon Middle School before moving back to Denver to be closer to my friends and family. I still keep in touch with many of my students from Los Angeles and enjoy hearing about their successes.

I taught at MLK Jr. Early College from August 2007 until May 2010. I had the pleasure of teaching 7th and 8th grade science, High School Health and Medical Science, and High School Anatomy. I also coached the Boys' and Girls' Soccer teams, Boys Basketball team, and was the Middle School Athletic Director.

I have been at VP since 2010 when the school opened.
